These metadata come from the Legislation Core Reference Dataset (LCRD). The LCRD contains a record of all UK and assimilated legislation that has been issued from 1235 onwards and related information.
The core items CSV contains a list of all items of UK and assimilated legislation. The core interpretations CSV contains a list of the original and most recent versions (also known as interpretations) of all legislation items, including the Welsh language versions for dual-language items.

Information on data formats
Legislation texts are available in a variety of formats including XML, HTML, plaintext and PDF. Although we are not currently able to make every document version available in every format. Statute Book Metadata is available as XML or CSV depending on the dataset. We hope to make more formats available in the future. The Data Formats section provides more information on the formats available, and which might be most useful for your purposes.
