The Cornwall (Electoral Changes) Order 2024

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2) and (3)
Under section 92(2) of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, Cornwall Council (“the Council”) made recommendations in a review to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England for the related alteration of a boundary between two electoral divisions within the Council’s area.The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has decided to give effect to the recommendations and makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 92(3) of that Act.
Citation, commencement, extent and application

(1) This Order may be cited as the Cornwall (Electoral Changes) Order 2024.
(2) This article comes into force on the day after the day on which this Order is made.
(3) Article 2 comes into force—
(a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on 15th October 2024;
(b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in England in 2025.
(4) This Order extends to England and Wales but applies in relation to England only.
Alteration of an electoral division boundary

The area of the parish of Menheniot that becomes part of the parish of Liskeard by virtue of the Cornwall (Reorganisation of Community Governance) No. 2 Order 2024 ceases to be part of the St Cleer & Menheniot electoral division and becomes part of the Liskeard Central electoral division.
