The Bus Services Improvement Partnerships (Multi-operator Travel Cards) (Scotland) Regulations 2024

The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3C(6) of the Transport (Scotland) Act 2001 and all other powers enabling them to do so.
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Bus Services Improvement Partnerships (Multi-operator Travel Cards) (Scotland) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 8 November 2024.
Multi-operator travel cards

(1) For the purposes of section 3C of the Transport (Scotland) Act 2001 “multi-operator travel cards” means a ticket entitling the holder to make three or more journeys on specified local services operating on three or more routes provided that—
(a) the routes are not substantially the same, and
(b) in practice, the ticket is not substantially used by passengers as—
(i) a ticket entitling the holder, where a particular journey could be made on local services provided by any of two or more operators, to make that journey or any part of it on whichever service the holder chooses,
(ii) a ticket entitling the holder to make a particular journey on two or more complementary local services which are not in competition with each other over a substantial part of the route covered by the ticket in question.
(2) In this regulation “ticket” means evidence of a contractual right to travel.
