The Northern Ireland Court of Judicature Rules Committee makes the following Rules in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 55 and 55A of the Judicature (Northern Ireland) Act 1978.
Citation, commencement and application
1 
These Rules shall be cited as the Rules of the Court of Judicature (Northern Ireland) (Amendment) 2024 and shall come into operation on 2nd December 2024.
Amendments to the Rules of the Court of Judicature (Northern Ireland) 1980
2 
The Rules of the Court of Judicature (Northern Ireland) 1980 are amended as follows—
(1) in the Arrangement of Orders, after the entry relating to Order 61A, insert “61B. Appeals to the Supreme Court in civil cases”; and
(2) after Order 61A, insert 61B (Appeals to the Supreme Court in civil cases) as set out in the Schedule to these Rules.

ORDER 61B
APPEALS TO THE SUPREME COURT IN CIVIL CASES
Leave to appeal from the Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court in civil cases
1. 
This Order applies where leave is sought to appeal to the Supreme Court under section 42 of the Judicature (Northern Ireland) Act 1978.
2. 
An application for leave to appeal shall be made to the Court of Appeal.
3. 
The application under Rule 2 shall be made within 28 days of the date of the order or judgment of the Court of Appeal which the applicant wishes to appeal.”
