The Common Organisation of the Markets in Agricultural Products (Marketing Standards and Organic Products) (Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Regulations 2023

Coming into force 1st January 2024
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 89(a) and 227(4) of Regulation (EU) No  1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products and sections 38(5) and 50(3) of the Agriculture Act 2020.
Part I Introductory
Citation, commencement and extent
1 

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Common Organisation of the Markets in Agricultural Products (Marketing Standards and Organic Products) (Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Regulations 2023.
(2) These Regulations come into force on 1st January 2024.
(3) These Regulations extend to Great Britain.
Part 2 Amendments to retained direct EU legislation
Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007

(1) Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products is amended as follows.
(2 ) In Article 33—
(a) in paragraph 1, for “1 January 2024” substitute “1 February 2025”;
(b) in paragraph 2, for “1 January 2024” substitute “1 February 2025”.
Commission Regulation (EC) No 543/2008

(1) In Article 14 of Commission Regulation (EC) No 543/2008 laying down detailed rules for the application of Council Regulation (EC) No 1234/2007 as regards the marketing standards for poultrymeat for “1 January 2024” substitute “1 February 2025”.
Commission Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008

(1) Commission Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008 laying down detailed rules for implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 as regards the arrangements for imports of organic products from third countries is amended as follows.
(2) In Article 13(1), for “1 January 2024” substitute “1 February 2025”.
(3) In Article 13b, for “1 January 2024” substitute “1 February 2025”.
(4) In Article 14(1), for “1 January 2024” substitute “1 February 2025”.

Regulation (EU) No  1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council

(1) Regulation (EU) No  1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products is amended as follows.
(2) In Article 77(4), for “1 January 2024”, in both places it occurs, substitute “1 February 2025”.
(3) In Article 190(2), for “1 January 2024” substitute “1 February 2025”.

(1) The Hops Certification Regulations 1979 are amended as follows in respect of Great Britain.
