The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 25(1) of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.
Citation, commencement and extent

This Order may be cited as the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Destruction, Retention and Use of Biometric Data) (Transitional, Transitory and Saving Provisions) (Amendment) Order 2022 and comes into force on 30th October 2022.

This Order extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Amendment of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Destruction, Retention and Use of Biometric Data) (Transitional, Transitory and Saving Provisions) Order 2013

(1) The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Destruction, Retention and Use of Biometric Data) (Transitional, Transitory, and Saving Provisions) Order 2013is amended as follows.
(2) In article 7A (Northern Ireland material), for “2022” substitute “2024”.
Revocations

(1) The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Destruction, Retention and Use of Biometric Data) (Transitional, Transitory and Saving Provisions) (Amendment) Order 2018is revoked.
(2) The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Destruction, Retention and Use of Biometric Data) (Transitional, Transitory and Saving Provisions) (Amendment) Order 2020is revoked.
