
COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2020/530 of 16 April 2020 extending the mandate of the Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq) 

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,
Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Articles 42(4) and 43(2) thereof,
Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,
Whereas:

(1) On 16 October 2017, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869, establishing a European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq).

(2) On 11 December 2019, the Political and Security Committee adopted Decision (CFSP) 2019/2188, appointing Mr Christoph BUIK as Head of Mission of EUAM Iraq from 1 January 2020 to 17 April 2020.

(3) On 7 April 2020, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2020/513, extending the mandate of EUAM Iraq until 30 April 2022.

(4) The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy has proposed to extend the mandate of Mr Christoph BUIK as Head of Mission of EUAM Iraq from 18 April 2020 to 17 April 2021,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1 
The mandate of Mr Christoph BUIK as Head of Mission of EUAM Iraq is hereby extended until 17 April 2021.
Article 2 
This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
It shall apply from 18 April 2020.
