The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is a Department designated, for the purposes of making Regulations under section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972, in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community and makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by that section.
Citation and commencement
1 
These Regulations may be cited as the Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009; and shall come into operation on 19th October 2009.
Interpretation
2 
The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.
Amendment of the Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007

The Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 are amended by replacing paragraphs (7) and (8) of regulation 4 (exemption for authorised products and personal imports) with the following paragraph—“
(7) Part 3 (with the exception of regulation 25) and Parts 4 to 9 do not apply in relation to the products of animal origin specified in Article 2 of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 206/2009 on the introduction into the Community of personal consignments of products of animal origin.”.
