The Secretary of State, being a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to measures relating to consumer protection, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by that section, hereby makes the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 and shall come into force on 1st October 2005.

(1) The Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1986 are amended as follows–
(a) in Part I of Schedule 2, by inserting the following entry after 28C–

28D Polylactide Fibre formed of linear macro-molecules having in the chain at least 85% (by mass) of lactic acid ester units derived from naturally occurring sugars, and which has a melting temperature of at least 135 °C.
(b) in Schedule 3, by inserting the following entry after 28C–
