Road Vehicles (Testing) (Disclosure of Information) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003

Coming into operation 1st February 2003
The Department of the Environment, being a Department designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to measures relating to the testing of the roadworthiness of motor vehicles and their trailers and in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by that section 2(2), and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles (Testing) (Disclosure of Information) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 and shall come into operation on 1st February 2003.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
(3) In these Regulations “the Department” means the Department for Infrastructure.
Disclosure of testing information to member State competent authorities

The  Department  may give information about vehicles or persons obtained from inspections carried out under Article 75 or 76 of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 or under Article 84 of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 to the competent authorities in other member States, and in Great Britain and Gibraltar, in compliance with Directive 2000/30/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the technical roadside inspection of the roadworthiness of commercial vehicles circulating in the Community.
