The Wireless Telegraphy (Exemption) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(1) of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 as enacted, and now vested in her, and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations—

These Regulations may be cited as the Wireless Telegraphy (Exemption) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 8th July 2002.

The Wireless Telegraphy (Exemption) Regulations 1999 are hereby amended by inserting the words “With the exception of relevant apparatus operating in the frequency band 2400.0 to 2483.5 MHz” at the beginning of regulation 4(2).

The exemption provided for by the said Regulations in the case of apparatus described in regulation 2 above is subject to the term that it shall comply with UK Radio Interface Requirement 2005 for Wideband transmission Systems operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM Band and Using Spread Spectrum Modulation Techniques, published by the Radiocommunications Agency of the Department of Trade and Industry in March 2000.
