The Secretary of State for the Environment and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 138(1) of the Water Industry Act 1991 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Trade Effluents (Prescribed Processes and Substances) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 20th March 1992.
Trade effluent derived from prescribed processes

Trade effluent which derives from any process which occasions liquid discharges containing trichloroethylene or perchloroethylene in quantities of thirty kilogrammes per year or more shall be special category effluent for the purposes of Chapter III of Part IV of the Water Industry Act 1991.
