
Article 1 

1. Fishing for bluefin tuna in the Atlantic Ocean, east of longitude 45° W, and the Mediterranean Sea by traps registered in Italy shall be prohibited as from 14 June 2013 at 17:00.Bluefin tuna caught by those traps as from that date shall not be placed in cages for fattening or farming, transhipped, transferred, harvested or landed.
2. By way of derogation, the provisions of paragraph 1 do not apply to bluefin tuna caught for scientific purposes by two italian traps in accordance with ICCAT Circular #2779 / 2013 of 28 May 2013 which might be landed for the crew's personal consumption, or for charitable purposes and which is accompanied by a copy of the logbook defined in ICCAT Circular #2779 / 2013 of 28 May 2013.
Article 2 
All fishing for bluefin tuna in the Atlantic Ocean, east of longitude 45° W, and the Mediterranean Sea by traps registered in Italy shall be prohibited as from 3 July 2013 at 00:00.
Bluefin tuna caught by those traps as from that date shall not be retained, placed in cages for fattening or farming, transhipped, transferred, harvested or landed.
Article 3 
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.Done at Brussels, 4 September 2013.
