
Article 1 
The Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters between the European Union, of the one part, and the State of Israel, of the other part, amending the Annexes to Protocols 1 and 2 of the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the State of Israel, of the other part, is hereby approved on behalf of the Union.
The text of the Agreement is attached to this Decision.
Article 2 
The President of the Council is hereby authorised to designate the person empowered to proceed, on behalf of the Union, with the deposit of the instrument of approval provided for in the Agreement, in order to express the consent of the Union to be bound by the Agreement.
Article 3 
This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its adoption.

I have the honour to refer to the technical meetings relating to the implementation of the Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters between the European Community and the State of Israel concerning reciprocal liberalisation measures on agricultural products, processed agricultural products and fish and fishery products, the replacement of Protocols 1 and 2 and their Annexes and amendments to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the State of Israel, of the other part, which entered into force on 1 January 2010. In these meetings it has been concluded that some technical amendments to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement are necessary.
I therefore propose that the Annex to Protocol 1 to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement, concerning the arrangements applicable to imports into the European Union of agricultural products, processed agricultural products and fish and fishery products originating in the State of Israel and the Annex to Protocol 2 to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement, concerning the arrangements applicable to imports into the State of Israel of agricultural products, processed agricultural products and fish and fishery products originating in the European Union be replaced by Annex I and II respectively of this Agreement, with effect as of 1 January 2010.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the first day of the third month following the date of deposit of the last instrument of approval.

'I have the honour to refer to the technical meetings relating to the implementation of the Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters between the European Community and the State of Israel concerning reciprocal liberalisation measures on agricultural products, processed agricultural products and fish and fishery products, the replacement of Protocols 1 and 2 and their Annexes and amendments to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the State of Israel, of the other part, which entered into force on 1 January 2010. In these meetings it has been concluded that some technical amendments to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement are necessary.I therefore propose that the Annex to Protocol 1 to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement, concerning the arrangements applicable to imports into the European Union of agricultural products, processed agricultural products and fish and fishery products originating in the State of Israel and the Annex to Protocol 2 to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement, concerning the arrangements applicable to imports into the State of Israel of agricultural products, processed agricultural products and fish and fishery products originating in the European Union be replaced by Annex I and II respectively of this Agreement, with effect as of 1 January 2010.This Agreement shall enter into force on the first day of the third month following the date of deposit of the last instrument of approval.I would be grateful if you could confirm that your Government is in agreement with the content of this letter.'.
