(1) This Order may be cited as the Workington (Pilotage) Harbour Revision Order 1988, and shall come into force on 1st October 1988.
(2) The Workington Harbour Acts 1957 and 1974 and this Order may be cited together as the Workington Harbour Acts and Order 1957 to 1988.

In this Order—
 “the Council” means Cumbria County Council;
 “the harbour” means the port and harbour of Workington within the limits of the harbour prescribed by section 12 (Harbour limits) of the Workington Harbour and Dock (Transfer) Act 1957; and
 “the signed plan” means the plan signed in triplicate by an Under Secretary in the Department of Transport, two copies of which have been deposited at that Department and one copy of which has been deposited at the offices of the Council situated at The Courts, Carlisle.

The limits within which the Council shall have jurisdiction for the purposes of pilotage under Part I of the Pilotage Act 1987 shall include (in addition to the harbour) the area coloured pink on the signed plan, being so much of the area outside the harbour as lies within the following imaginary straight lines—
(a) a line drawn due west (true) from the level of water at highest astronomical tide south of the harbour entrance on latitude 54°37N to a point at longitude 3°37.3'W;
(b) a line drawn from that point northwards to a position latitude 54°39.1'N longitude 3°36.3'W being a point one nautical mile due west of Workington South Pier Head in longitude 3°34'.6W;
(c) a line drawn northwards from that point to a position latitude 54°41N longitude 3°35.3'W;
(d) a line drawn due east (true) on latitude 54°41N from the last mentioned position to the level of water at highest astronomical tide north of the harbour entrance.
