(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Equality (Age) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 and shall come into operation on 11th January 2010.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.

In regulation 34 of the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 (Exception for provision of certain benefits based on length of service)—
(a) at the end of paragraph (5)(a) omit “or”;
(b) after paragraph (5)(b) delete the full stop and add—“; or
(c) in any case to which sub-paragraph (a) or (b) does not apply, that period is treated as a period of employment with A by or under an enactment pursuant to which his employment was transferred to A.”.
