(1) These regulations may be cited as the Health and Personal Social Services (Assessment of Resources) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005 and shall come into operation on 11th April 2005.
(2) In these regulations “the principal regulations” means the Health and Personal Social Services (Assessment of Resources) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993.

In regulation 20 (capital limit) of the principal regulations for the amount “£20,000” substitute the amount “£20,500”.

In regulation 28(1) (calculation of tariff income from capital) of the principal regulations –
(a) for the amount “£12,250” (both times it appears) substitute the amount “£12,500”; and
(b) for the amount “£20,000” substitute the amount “£20,500”.

In paragraph 27H of Schedule 3 to the principal Regulations (sums to be disregarded in the calculation of income other than earnings) –
(a) in sub-paragraphs (1) and (2), for the amount “£4.65” (each time it appears) substitute the amount “£4.85”;
(b) in sub-paragraphs (3) and (4), for the amount “£6.95” (each time it appears) substitute the amount “£7.20”.

At the end of Schedule 4 to the principal regulations (capital to be disregarded), after paragraph 24, there shall be added the following new paragraph –“
25. 
Any payment made to the resident under Article 4 or 5 of the Age-Related Payments (Northern Ireland) Order 2004 (entitlement: basic or special cases).”.
