(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Claims and Payments) (Amendment No.2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004 and shall come into operation on 6th October 2004.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.

(1) The Social Security (Claims and Payments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987 shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) In regulation 19(3) (time for claiming benefit) sub-paragraph (fa) shall be omitted.
(3) In Schedule 4 (prescribed times for claiming benefit) after paragraph 11 there shall be added the following paragraph –“
12 
State pension credit. As regards any day on which, apart from satisfying the condition of making a claim, the claimant is entitled to benefit, that day and the period of 12 months immediately following it.”.
