This Order may be cited as the A16 Trunk Road (Stamford to North East Lincolnshire) (Detrunking) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 17th May 2002.

In this Order—
(i) “principal road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;
(ii) “the trunk road” means the A16 Trunk Road; and
(iii) “the plan” means the plan, numbered HA 10/OD/405, marked “The A16 Trunk Road (Stamford to North East Lincolnshire) (Detrunking) Order 2002”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions and deposited at DTLR Records Management Branch, Ashdown House, Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN37 7GA.

The lengths of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Order comes into force.

THE SCHEDULE

The lengths of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road are situated:
(i) between the junction with the A43 Trunk Road at Stamford (marked “A” on the plan) and the junction of the A15 Principal Road, west of Market Deeping (marked “B” on the plan), all in the County of Lincolnshire; and
(ii) between the B1525/ Market Deeping Bypass junction, in the County of Lincolnshire (marked “C” on the plan) and the A1098/B1219 junction at Toll Bar Roundabout, in the District of North East Lincolnshire (marked “D” on the plan);a total length of approximately 123km. Both lengths are shown by broad black dashes on the plan.
