(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Health Services Charges) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2003.
(2) In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations” means the Road Traffic (Health Services Charges) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001.

Regulation 4 of the principal Regulations (amount of health services charges – incidents on or after 2nd July 1997) shall be amended as follows–
(a) in paragraph (2)–
(i) in sub-paragraph (a) for “amount of £354” substitute “amount of £440 unless the incident occurred on or after 1st April 2003, in which case, the amount of £452”;
(ii) in sub-paragraph (b) for the words from “sum of £435” to the end substitute “sum of £541 for each day, or part day, of admission unless the incident occurred on or after 1st April 2003, in which case the sum of £556 for each day, or part day, of admission.”;
(b) in paragraph (5) for “shall be £10,000” substitute “shall be £30,000 unless the certificate relates to an incident which occurred on or after 1st April 2003 in which case it shall be £33,000.”.

Notwithstanding regulation 2 above, in relation to an incident which occurred before 1st January 2003, the principal Regulations shall continue to have effect as if the amendments made by these Regulations had not been made.
