This Order shall be cited as the South Tyneside Education Action Zone (Extension and Variation) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st January 2002.

In this Order—
 “South Tyneside Education Action Zone” means the Education Action Zone established by the South Tyneside Education Action Zone Order 1998.
3 
The South Tyneside Education Action Zone is extended for a further period of two years beginning with 1st January 2002.

There shall be inserted after article 9 of the South Tyneside Education Action Zone Order 1998 the following article—“
9A 
A member of the Forum may be removed from office by the Forum in the following circumstances—
(a) in the case of a member who was a governor of a zone school at the time he was appointed to the Forum pursuant to either article 4(a) or article 5, if that person ceases to be a governor at that zone school, or a governor of the relevant category as the case may be;
(b) in the case of a member appointed pursuant to either article 4(a) or 5, if the school whose governing body appointed him, or to which he was connected, is discontinued;
(c) in the case of a member appointed pursuant to article 4(c), if the body in question is dissolved or otherwise ceases to exist;
(d) in the case of a member appointed pursuant to article 5(a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), (i), (j) and (k), if that person no longer appears to the Forum to represent the interests of either: businesses in the area served by the zone schools, the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of South Tyneside; institutions within the further or higher education sector; the voluntary, community and charitable sectors, or the health sector, in the area served by the zone schools; trade unions with membership from staff of the zone schools, Tyneside Careers Partnership, Business in the Community, parents of children at zone schools; the Durham Diocesan Board of Education; or, Hexham and Newcastle Board of Education, as the case may be; and
(e) in the case of a member appointed pursuant to article 5(l), if that person no longer appears to the Forum to be able to further the objects of the zone.”

(1) The South Tyneside Education Action Zone Order 1998 is varied as follows:—
(2) In schedule 1 the words “IBM”, “Sunderland University” and “Gateshead and South Tyneside Health Trust” are inserted, and the words “Cammell Laird (South Shields) Limited”, “Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd”, “Ford Component Manufacturing Limited”, “Tyneside Training and Enterprise Council” and “South Tyneside Health Trust” are deleted.
(3) In schedule 2 the words, “All Saints CE Primary School” are substituted for “Elizabeth Diamond Nursery School”, “All Saints' CE Infants School” and “All Saints' CE Junior Mixed School”.
(4) In schedule 2 the words “The Galsworthy Unit” are substituted for “Chuter Ede Behavioural Support Unit”.
