These regulations may be cited as the Education (Student Support) (European Institutions) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 1st September 2001.

The Education (Student Support) (European Institutions) Regulations 2000 shall be amended as follows.

In Regulation 2(1)—
(a) in the definition of “designated course” for the words “regulation 4” substitute the words “regulation 5”; and
(b) in the definition of “the Student Support Regulations 2000” add at the end the following words “, save that the reference to the Student Support Regulations 2000 in regulations 7(1)(g) and 8(1)(b) is only to those Regulations (and not any regulations made under Section 22 of the Act replacing such Regulations);”.

In regulation 7(1)—
(a) in sub-paragraph (c)(i) for the figure “£1,981.57” substitute the figure “£2,029.13”;
(b) in sub-paragraph (c)(ii) for the figure “£38.67” substitute the figure “£39.60”;
(c) in sub-paragraph (d) for the figure “£87” substitute the figure “£89”; and
(d) in sub-paragraph (g) add at the end the following words “and that the regulation shall be read as if for the figures set out in it and listed in column 1 of the Schedule there had been substituted the figures in column 2;”.

In regulation 8(1)(b) add at the end the following words “and that the regulation shall be read as if for the figures set out in it and listed in column 1 of the Schedule there had been substituted the figures in column 2;”.

In regulation 9 for the figure “US$22,400” substitute the figure “US$23,200”.

Without prejudice to the definition of the Student Support Regulations 2000, in regulation 10(1) the reference to regulation 22 of the Student Support Regulations 2000 shall be read as a reference to regulation 23 of the Education (Student Support) Regulations 2001.
