These Regulations may be cited as the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (Marking of Meat, Meat Products, Minced Meat and Meat Preparations) Regulations 2001; they extend to England and shall come into force on 9th May 2001.

In—
(a) sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph 3A; and
(b) sub-paragraphs (1) and (2) of paragraph 3Bof Part VI of Schedule 2 to the Meat Product (Hygiene) Regulations 1994 for “2001/172/EC”, substitute “2001/356/EC”.

In sub-paragraph (3) of paragraph 9 of Schedule 12 to the Fresh Meat (Hygiene and Inspection) Regulation 1995 for “2001/172/EC”, substitute “2001/356/EC”.

(1) The Minced Meat and Meat Preparations (Hygiene) Regulations 1995 are amended in accordance with this regulation and a reference to a regulation by number alone is a reference to the regulation so numbered in those Regulations.
(2) In regulation 7—
(a) omit paragraph (1A) and (1B); and
(b) in paragraph (6), for “2001/172/EC”, substitute “2001/356/EC”
(3) In regulation 8—
(a) omit paragraphs (4A) and (4B); and
(b) in paragraph (7), for “2001/172/EC”, substitute “2001/356/EC”.
