(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Colours in Food (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2000, shall come into force on 30th June 2000 and shall apply to England.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Colours in Food Regulations 1995.

The principal Regulations, in so far as they apply to England, shall be amended by the addition, at the end of the definition of “Directive 95/45/EC ” in regulation 2(1), of the words “, as amended by Directive 1999/75/EC”.

(1) References to the principal Regulations in the provisions listed in paragraph (2) below shall, in so far as those provisions apply to England, be taken to be references to the principal Regulations as amended by these Regulations.
(2) The provisions to which paragraph (1) above refers are–
(a) the definition of “permitted colour” in regulation 2(1) (interpretation) of the Jam and Similar Products Regulations 1981;
(b) the definition of “additive” in regulation 2(1) (interpretation) of the Meat Products and Spreadable Fish Products Regulations 1984;
(c) the definition of “colour” in Part II of Schedule 1 (categories of food additives) to the Food Additive Labelling Regulations 1992;
(d) the definition of “colour” in regulation 2(1) (interpretation) of the Miscellaneous Food Additives Regulations 1995; and
(e) the definition of “the additives Regulations” in regulation 2(1) (interpretation) of the Food Labelling Regulations 1996.
