(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Medical Act 1983 (Approved Medical Practices and Conditions of Residence) and National Health Services (General Medical Services) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 4th December.
(2) In these Regulations—
 “the 1992 Regulations” means the National Health Service (General Medical Services) Regulations;
 “the 1998 Regulations” means the Medical Act 1983 (Approved Medical Practices and Conditions of Residence) and National Health Service (General Medical Services) (Amendment) Regulations 1998.
(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales only.

The 1998 Regulations shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this regulation—
(a) in regulation 1(2), after the words “under section 10” there shall be inserted the words “or 15A”;
(b) in regulation 2(2)(b)—
(i) after the words “for the purposes of” there shall be inserted the words “PRHO training under”;
(ii) after the words “section 10” there shall be inserted the words “or 15A”.

The 1992 Regulations shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this regulation—
(a) in Schedule 2 (terms of service for doctors), in sub-paragraph (d) of paragraph 22A, after the words “under section 10” there shall be inserted the words “or 15A”;
(b) in Schedule 12 (information to be included in practice leaflets), in paragraph 21, after the words “under section 10” there shall be inserted the words “or 15A”.
