(1) These Regulations may be cited as the M61 Motorway (Kearsley Spur) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 17th July 2000.
(2) In these Regulations—
(a) “the Kearsley Spur” means the Kearsley Spur of the M61 Motorway at Kearsley in Greater Manchester; and
(b) “the northbound exit slip road” means the northbound exit slip road linking the northbound carriageway of the Kearsley Spur with the Kearsley roundabout.

(1) No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on a restricted carriageway.
(2) Each of the following is a restricted carriageway—
(a) the northbound carriageway of the Kearsley Spur between its junction with the northbound exit slip road (marker post 3.8) and its junction with the A666 (Farnworth and Kearsley bypass) (marker post 4.4);
(b) the northbound exit slip road between its junction with the northbound carriageway of the Kearsley Spur and its junction with the Kearsley roundabout (Bolton Road).
(3) For the purposes of this regulation the junction between the Kearsley Spur and the northbound exit slip road shall be taken to be marked by a gantry over the carriageway on which there are for the time being displayed traffic signs of the size, colour and type shown in diagram 670 of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 1994 varied to indicate a speed limit of 50 miles per hour.

The M61 Motorway (Kearsley Spur) (Speed Limit) Regulations 1999 are hereby revoked.
