(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (National Insurance Number Information: Exemption) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 15th May 2000.
(2) For the purposes of any regulation introduced by these Regulations, “the Administration Act” means the Social Security Administration Act 1992.

In the Child Benefit (General) Regulations 1976, after regulation 17, insert the following regulation—“
17A 
Section 13(1A) of the Administration Act (requirement to state national insurance number) shall not apply to a claim for child benefit in respect of a child who is living with a voluntary organisation within the meaning of regulation 17 of these Regulations.”.

In the Social Security (Guardian’s Allowances) Regulations 1975, regulation 1A is omitted.
