These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 and shall come into operation on 19th June 2000.

(1) The Social Security (Attendance Allowance) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1992 shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) to (5) of this regulation.
(2) In regulation 1(2) (interpretation) the definition of “HSS trust” shall be omitted.
(3) In regulation 6(2A) (hospitalisation) after “and to end on the day” there shall be inserted “before the day”.
(4) In regulation 7A(2)(b)(ii) (persons to whom regulations 7 and 8 apply with modifications) for “paragraphs (4) to (7)” there shall be substituted “paragraphs (4) to (6)”.
(5) In regulation 8 (exemption from regulations 6 and 7)—
(a) in paragraphs (4) and (6) “, except in a case to which paragraph (7) applies,” shall be omitted; and
(b) paragraph (7) shall be omitted.

(1) The Social Security (Disability Living Allowance) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1992 shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) to (4) of this regulation.
(2) In regulation 8(2A) (hospitalisation) and regulation 12A(3) (hospitalisation in mobility component cases) after “and to end on the day” there shall be inserted “before the day”.
(3) In regulation 9A(2)(b)(ii) (persons to whom regulations 9 and 10 apply with modifications) for “paragraphs (6) to (9)” there shall be substituted “paragraphs (6) to (8)”.
(4) In regulation 10 (exemption from regulation 8 and 9)—
(a) in paragraphs (6) and (8) “, except in a case to which paragraph (9) applies,” shall be omitted; and
(b) paragraph (9) shall be omitted.

The following provisions are hereby revoked—
(a) regulations 2(3)(a), (c) and (d) and 3(3)(a), (c) and (d) of the Social Security Benefits (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993; and
(b) Schedule 16 and paragraph 1(c) of Schedule 17 to the Health and Social Services Trusts (Consequential Amendments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1994.
