(1) This Order may be cited as the Medicines (Products Other Than Veterinary Drugs) (General Sale List) Amendment Order 1999 and shall come into force on 31st March 1999.
(2) In this Order, “the principal Order” means the Medicines (Products Other Than Veterinary Drugs) (General Sale List) Order 1984.
(3) In this Order, a reference to a numbered column in Table A, unless otherwise indicated, is a reference to the column bearing that number in Table A of the specified Schedule to the principal Order.

(1) Table A (internal or external use) of Schedule 1 to the principal Order (which specifies the class of medicinal products, other than products the subject of a product licence of right, on general sale by virtue of article 2(a) of the principal Order) is amended as follows–
(a) there is deleted in column 1 the entry “Methionine, DL except when combined with Paracetamol”; and
(b) there is inserted in column 1, at the appropriate point in the alphabetical order of the entries as they appear in that column, the entry set out in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order, and against that entry there is inserted in columns 2 and 3 the corresponding text in columns 2 and 3 of the Schedule to this Order.

In Table A (internal or external use) of Schedule 2 to the principal Order (which specifies the class of medicinal products, the subject of a product licence of right, on general sale by virtue of article 2(b) of the principal Order) there is deleted in column 1 the entry “Methionine”.
