These Regulations may be cited as the Rules of the Air (Amendment) Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 14th May 1999.

The Schedule to the Rules of the Air Regulations 1996 shall be amended as follows:
(1) In rule 5(2)(c)(ii):
(a) for “an exhibition of flying” there shall be substituted “a flying display”;
(b) for “exhibition” there shall be substituted “display”;
(c) in sub-paragraph (aa) for “the exhibition of flying” there shall be substituted “the flying display” and for “the organiser of the exhibition of flying” there shall be substituted “the flying display director”; and
(d) in sub-paragraph (bb) for “display authorisation” there shall be substituted “pilot display authorisation”.
(2) In rule 5(2)(c)(iii) for “an exhibition of flying” there shall be substituted “a flying display” and for “exhibition” there shall be substituted “display”.
(3) In rule 20(2) for “flight information unit” there shall be substituted “flight information service unit”.
(4) In rule 35, after “air traffic control unit” there shall be inserted “or an aerodrome flight information service unit”.
(5) In rule 36(2) after “air traffic control unit” there shall be inserted “or aerodrome flight information service unit”.
(6) In the Table at rule 39(1) in sub-paragraph (b) for “aerodrome flight information unit” in both column 1 and column 2 there shall be substituted “aerodrome flight information service unit”.
(7) In rule 39(2) for “aerodrome flight information unit” on both occasions on which it occurs there shall be substituted “aerodrome flight information service unit”.
(8) In rule 39(3) for “aerodrome flight information unit” there shall be substituted “aerodrome flight information service unit”.
