These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Assisted Places) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 1st August 1999.

The Education (Assisted Places) (Scotland) Regulations 1995 are amended as follows:–
(a) in paragraphs (3) and (5) of regulation 9 (references to income) for the sum of “£1,265” in the three places where it occurs substitute “£1,300”;
(b) in paragraph (2) of regulation 13 (scales of remission) for the sum of “£10,414” substitute “£10,670”;
(c) in paragraph (6) of regulation 15 (school travel grants for day pupils and amounts thereof) for the sums of “£10,427” and “£10,248” substitute “£10,683” and “£10,504” respectively;
(d) in paragraph (5) of regulation 16 (school travel grants for boarding pupils and amounts thereof) for the sums of “£10,427” and “£10,248” substitute “£10,683” and “£10,504” respectively;
(e) in regulation 17 (clothing grants) for paragraphs (2) and (3) substitute–“
(2) A clothing grant shall be made in the case of an assisted pupil as respects whom the relevant income does not exceed £11,466 and shall be of an amount equal to so much of the clothing expenditure (disregarding expenditure in respect of which a previous grant has been paid) as does not exceed–
(a) £69, where the relevant income is £10,670 or less;
(b) £36, where that income exceeds £10,670 but does not exceed £11,466.”; and
(f) for Schedule 2 substitute–
