(1) This Order may be cited as the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (Commencement No. 6) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

(1) The day appointed for the coming into operation of the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 specified in Article 3 is 26th April 1999.
(2) The day appointed for the coming into operation of the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 specified in Article 4 is 1st October 1999.

The provisions referred to in Article 2(1) are-
(a) section 21(3) (regulations affecting the duty of providers of services to make adjustments);
(b) section 21(5) (regulations affecting the duty of providers of services to make adjustments).

The provisions referred to in Article 2(2) are-
(a) section 14(2), (4) and (5) (meaning of discrimination in relation to trade organisations);
(b) section 15(1)(a) and (2) to (10) (duty of trade organisations to make adjustments);
(c) section 19(1)(b) (discrimination in relation to goods, facilities and services);
(d) section 20(2) (meaning of “discrimination”);
(e) section 20(5) (costs disregard);
(f) section 20(9) (meaning of “treatment”);
(g) section 21(1), (2)(d), (4), (6) and (10) (duty of providers of services to make adjustments).
