This Order may be cited as the London Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1998 and shall come into force on 30th November 1998.

For article 3 of the London Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1996 (nature and functions of the trust) there shall be substituted the following article:–“

(1) The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 5(1) of the Act.
(2) The trust’s functions (which include functions which the Secretary of State considers appropriate in relation to the provision of services by the trust for one or more Health Authorities) shall be–
(a) to own and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(a) of the Act Ambulance Headquarters, 220 Waterloo Road, London SE1 8SD and associated premises;
(b) to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act premises within the area of Westminster City Council; and
(c) from any or all of the premises mentioned in sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) above:–
(i) to manage ambulance and associated transport services; and
(ii) to manage such other services, relating to the provision of care, as can reasonably be carried out in conjunction with the management of ambulance and associated transport services”.
