(1) This Order may be cited as the Gaming (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998 and shall come into operation on 9th April 1998.
(2) In this Order “the Order” means the Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Northern Ireland) Order 1985.

In Article 77(1) of the Order—
(a) in sub-paragraphs (b) and (e) for “£30” there shall be substituted “£50”; and
(b) in sub-paragraph (c) for “£0·30” there shall be substituted “£5”.

For the purposes of Article 106(3) of the Order instead of “£0·25” the sum of “£0·30” is hereby specified.

In Article 108 of the Order—
(a) in paragraph (6) for “£0·25” there shall be substituted “£0·30”; and
(b) in paragraphs (7) and (9) for “£4” wherever it occurs there shall be substituted “£5”.

The following are hereby revoked—
(a) Article 4 of the Gaming and Amusements with Prizes (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996;
(b) Articles 2 and 3(a) of the Gaming (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 1995.
