(1) This Order may be cited as the National Health Service (Primary Care) Act 1997 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1997.
(2) In this Order, “the Act” means the National Health Service (Primary Care) Act 1997.

(1) 30th October 1997 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—
(a) section 4 (proposals for pilot schemes), in so far as it is not already in force; and
(b) section 16 (NHS contracts), in so far as it relates to pilot schemes under which personal medical services are provided.
(2) 28th November 1997 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—
(a) section 1 (pilot schemes) and section 2 (provision of personal medical services under a pilot scheme); and
(b) section 5 (approval of pilot schemes), section 6 (making of pilot schemes) and section 18(2)(b) (funding of preparatory work), in so far as those sections relate to pilot schemes under which personal medical services are provided.
