This Order may be cited as the Football Spectators (Seating) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 31st July 1997.

(1) The Secretary of State hereby directs the Football Licensing Authority as set out in paragraph (2) below.
(2) When granting any licence to admit spectators to any of the premises specified in column (1) of Schedule 1 hereto and further identified in column (2) of that Schedule by the name of the football club of which they are the home ground, it shall include a condition imposing the requirements, as respects the seating of spectators at designated football matches at the said premises, specified in Schedule 2 hereto.

Only seated accommodation shall be provided for spectators at a designated football match.
2 
Spectators shall only be admitted to watch a designated football match from seated accommodation.
