This Order may be cited as The A312 Trunk Road (The Parkway, Hounslow) Red Route (Prescribed Route) Traffic Order 1997, and shall come into force on 24th June 1997.

In this Order—
(a) cause includes permit;
(b) a reference to an article followed by a number is a reference to the article of this Order so numbered;
(c) “the trunk road” means the length of the A312 Trunk Road in the London Borough of Hounslow, known as The Parkway;
(d) “the traffic island” means the triangular island site situated adjacent to the junction of the southbound carriageway of the trunk road and the north-eastern arm of Cranford High Street.

Subject to the provisions of article 4—
(a) any person causing a vehicle to proceed on the north side of the traffic island shall not cause that vehicle to proceed in any direction other than eastwards towards the north-eastern arm of Cranford High Street and on reaching the junction with the north-eastern arm of Cranford High Street shall not cause that vehicle to continue in any direction other than left; and
(b) any person causing a vehicle to proceed southward in the trunk road on the south-west side of the traffic island, shall not cause that vehicle to continue in any direction other than ahead.

Nothing in article 3 shall apply—
(a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable or a traffic warden in uniform.
(b) to a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes.

The Trunk Road (The Parkway, Hounslow) (Prescribed Route) Order 1975 is hereby revoked.
