(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) (Scotland) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 7th April 1997.
(2) In these Regulations, “the Act” means the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986.

These Regulations shall apply only in relation to any case where an application for civil legal aid is made to the Scottish Legal Aid Board on or after 7th April 1997.

For the yearly amount of £8,158 specified in section 15(1) of the Act, there shall be substituted the yearly amount of £8,370.

For the yearly amount of £2,498 specified in section 17(2)(a) of the Act, there shall be substituted the yearly amount of £2,563.

Regulations 3 and 5 of the Civil Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) (Scotland) Regulations 1996 are hereby revoked except in relation to any case where an application for civil legal aid is made to the Scottish Legal Aid Board before 7th April 1997.
