These Regulations may be cited as the Fodder Plant Seeds (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 1st July 1996.

(1) The Fodder Plant Seeds Regulations 1993 shall be amended in accordance with the provisions of this regulation.
(2) In the table in paragraph 8 of Part I of Schedule 5 (sampling of seed lots) there shall be added at the end the following new line—“
20,001 kg and above one primary sample for each 700 kg but not less than 40”.
(3) For paragraph (a) of Part II of Schedule 5 (maximum weight of a seed lot and minimum weight of a submitted sample) there shall be substituted the following—“
(a) The maximum weight of a lot shall be—
(i) for seeds of hairy vetch and Hungarian vetch, 20 tonnes;
(ii) for seeds of common vetch, field bean, field pea, narrow-leaved lupin (blue lupin), white lupin and yellow lupin, 25 tonnes.
(aa) The minimum weight of a submitted sample shall be—
(i) for seeds of common vetch, hairy vetch and Hungarian vetch, 1,000 g;
(ii) for seeds of field bean, field pea, narrow-leaved lupin (blue lupin), white lupin and yellow lupin—
 for Breeder’s Seed, Pre-basic Seed and Basic Seed, 3,000 g;
 for Certified Seed, Certified Seed of the First Generation and Certified Seed of the Second Generation, 2,000 g.”
