This Order may be cited as the Tyne Riverside Enterprise Zones (North Tyneside) (Designation) (No. 1) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 19th February 1996.

(1) Any reference in this Order to the Zone area is a reference to the area—
(a) the boundary of which is represented by the outside edge of a black line edged internally with a stippled band on the map; and
(b) to which the Tyne Riverside Enterprise Zone No. 1 (Hadrian Business Park South) Scheme relates.
(2) In this Order:
 “the council” means North Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council; and
 “the map” means the map prepared in duplicate, marked “Map referred to in the Tyne Riverside Enterprise Zones (North Tyneside) (Designation) (No. 1) Order 1996”, and signed by an Under Secretary in the Department of the Environment, one duplicate of which has been deposited and is available for inspection at the principal offices of the council and the other at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment.

—The Zone area is hereby designated as an enterprise zone, and the council is hereby designated as the enterprise zone authority for that zone.
4 
Designation under this Order shall take effect on 19th February 1996, and the designated area shall remain an enterprise zone for a period of ten years from that date.
