(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) (Scotland) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 8th April 1996.
(2) In these Regulations, “the Act” means the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986.

These Regulations shall apply only in relation to any case where an application for civil legal aid is made to the Scottish Legal Aid Board on or after 8th April 1996.

For the yearly amount of £7,920 specified in section 15(1) of the Act, there shall be substituted the yearly amount of £8,158.

For the sum of £6,750 specified in section 15(2)(a) of the Act, there shall be substituted the sum of £8,560.

For the yearly amount of £2,425 specified in section 17(2)(a) of the Act, there shall be substituted the yearly amount of £2,498.

The Civil Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) (Scotland) Regulations 1991, the Civil Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) (Scotland) Regulations 1992 and the Civil Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) (Scotland) Regulations 1995 are hereby revoked except in relation to any case where an application for civil legal aid is made to the Scottish Legal Board before 8th April 1996.
