(1) This Order may be cited as the River Arkaig, Loch Arkaig and Associated Waters Protection Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st January 1996.
(2) In this Order—
 “freshwater fish” has the same meaning as in section 24(1) of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Protection) (Scotland) Act 1951; and
 “the map” means the map marked “Area of the River Arkaig, Loch Arkaig and Associated Waters Protection Order 1995”, signed on behalf of the Secretary of State for Scotland and deposited in the office of the Scottish Office Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries Department, Pentland House, Robb’s Loan, Edinburgh.

Fishing for, or taking, freshwater fish in the inland waters in the area prescribed in article 3 hereof without legal right or without written permission from a person having such right is hereby prohibited.

The prescribed area, which lies in Highland Region, is that part of the catchment area of the River Arkaig comprising—
(a) the River Arkaig and Loch Arkaig and their respective banks; and
(b) Alt Arcabhi, Loch a Bhlair and Lochan Dubh and their respective banks,and is delineated by a continuous blue line on the map.
