This Order may be cited as the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994 (Commencement No.1) Order 1994.

The provisions of the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994 specified in article 3 below shall come into force on 1st December 1994.

The provisions referred to in article 2 above are—
(a) section 22 (Sunday opening of certain licensed premises in Scotland);
(b) section 23 (repeal of Part I of the Shops Act 1950);
(c) section 24 (repeal of remainder of the Shops Act 1950);
(d) section 81 (repeals) so far as relating to the entries referred to in paragraph (e) below; and
(e) in Schedule 17 (repeals), the entries in respect of—
(i) the Shops Act 1950;
(ii) the Shops (Airports) Act 1962;
(iii) the Shops (Early Closing Days) Act 1965;
(iv) the Local Government Act 1972;
(v) the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973;
(vi) the Cinemas Act 1985;
(vii) the Employment Act 1989; and
(viii) the Sunday Trading Act 1994.
