This Order may be cited as the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Modern Foreign Languages and Technology at Key Stage 4) (Amendment) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 1st August 1994.

The Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Modern Foreign Languages) Order 1991 is amended as follows:
(a) for article 1(3) there is substituted:“
 This Order applies in relation to the third key stage in maintained schools in England and Wales and in relation to the fourth key stage in maintained schools in England only.”; and
(b) for article 3 there is substituted the following article:“

The provisions of this Order relating to the fourth key stage shall come into force—
(a) on 1st August 1996 in respect of pupils entering the first year of that key stage in the school year beginning in 1996; and
(b) on 1st August 1997 in respect of all other pupils.”.

The Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Technology) Order 1990 is amended by the substitution in article 5 for “and” after paragraph (a) and for paragraph (b) of the following:“
(b) on 1st August 1996 in respect of pupils at maintained schools in England entering the first year of that key stage in the school year beginning in 1996; and
(c) on 1st August 1997 in respect of all other pupils at maintained schools in England.”.
