This Order may be cited as the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in History) (Wales) (Amendment) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 1st August 1994.

The Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in History) (Wales) Order 1991 is amended as follows:
(a) in article 1(1) there is substituted for “5”“4”;
(b) in article 1(2), in the definition of “the Document” there is inserted after “3”“and Schedule 4” and at the end of that definition there is substituted for “that Schedule”, “those Schedules”;
(c) in article 1(2), in the definition of “first, second, third and fourth key stages”, there is substituted for “(d)”“(c)” and for “, third and fourth”“and third”;
(d) article 5 is omitted;
(e) in article 6 there is inserted after “history” the words “in the first, second and third key stages”;
(f) in article 7(1) there is substituted for “each key stage”“the first, second and third key stages”;
(g) in article 8(1) there is substituted for “each key stage”“the first, second and third key stages”;
(h) in article 8(2) there is substituted for “Subject to paragraph (3), the”“The”;
(i) article 8(3) is omitted;
(j) in Schedule 1 “Fourth key stage” (in the first column) and “Attainment targets 1—3; levels 4—10, where specified in the Document.” (in the second column) are omitted; and
(k) in Schedule 2 “Fourth key stage” (in the first column) and “Either Model A or Model B as set out in the Document” (in the second column) are omitted.

There shall be inserted after Schedule 3 a new Schedule as follows–“
SCHEDULE 4

The Document is further amended as follows:
(a) in the contents page the reference to key stage 4 is omitted;
(b) in the title of the section headed “Attainment Targets and statements of attainment and programmes of study key stages 1 to 4” there is substituted for “4”“3”;
(c) under the sections headed, respectively, “Attainment Target 1”, “Attainment Target 2” and “Attainment Target 3” the numbers “8”, “9” and “10” in the first column, and the words in the second and third columns opposite those numbers, are omitted;
(d) in the introductory section headed “Programmes of study for history” in the first paragraph “and Models A and B for key stage 4” is omitted;
(e) the entire section headed “Programme of study for key stage 4” is omitted.
