These Regulations may be cited as the Cycle Racing on Highways (Tour de France 1994) Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 1st June 1994.

(1) In these Regulations—
 “the principal Regulations” means the Cycle Racing on Highways Regulations 1960; and
 “the specified races” means those stages of the Tour de France 1994 which are proposed to be held in England on 6th and 7th July 1994.

(1) The principal Regulations shall have effect in their application to the specified races as if in regulation 5(1)(a)—
(a) for sub-paragraph (i) there were substituted—“
(i) the number of competitors must not exceed 220;”, and
(b) sub-paragraphs (iii) and (iv) were omitted.
(2) Except as provided by paragraph (1) of this regulation, the principal Regulations shall apply to the specified races as they apply to any other bicycle race.
