(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Race Relations (Prescribed Public Bodies) Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 17 February 1994.
(2) In these Regulations—
 “members of the Metropolitan Police civil staff” means persons who are employed under the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis, who are not constables and whose salaries are paid out of the Metropolitan Police Fund. 
 “relevant members of the House of Commons staff” means—
(a) any person appointed by the House of Commons Commission; and
(b) any member of the Speaker’s personal staff.
 “relevant members of the House of Lords staff” means—
 any persons employed under a contract of employment with the Corporate Officer of the House of Lords.

The public bodies specified in the Schedule to these Regulations shall be public bodies prescribed for the purposes of section 75(5) of the Race Relations Act 1976.

The Race Relations (Prescribed Public Bodies) Regulations 1984, the Race Relations (Prescribed Public Bodies) (Amendment) Regulations 1985 and the Race Relations (Prescribed Public Bodies) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1985 are hereby revoked.
