This Order may be cited as the Education (School Teachers' Pay and Conditions) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 22nd April 1993.

This Order applies to all school teachers (as defined in the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1991) in England and Wales.

The School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document 1992 is amended with effect from 1st April 1993 as follows:
(a) the following shall be substituted for the table in paragraph 4:“

(k) in paragraphs 6, 7 and 8 of Part B of Appendix I, in each place where “authority” or “an authority” occurs there shall be substituted “relevant body” or “the relevant body” respectively; and
(l) in paragraph 6 of Part B of Appendix I—
(i) the following shall be added at the end of sub-paragraph (2):“
 provided that, where the relevant body is the governing body of a school which has a delegated budget, no assignment shall be made until the authority has been consulted”;
(ii) in sub-paragraph (3), after “governors” there shall be inserted “(if they are not the relevant body)”; and
(iii) sub-paragraph (4) shall be omitted.
