This Order may be cited as the Police (Common Police Services) (Scotland) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.

Section 36(4) of the Police (Scotland) Act 1967 (which provides for the recovery by the Secretary of State from police authorities and joint police committees of one half of the expenses incurred by the Secretary of State in establishing and maintaining any central training institution) shall apply to the expenses incurred by the Secretary of State for the purposes of police forces generally, on or in connection with—
(a) the administration of the Police (Scotland) Promotion Examination;
(b) police representative and negotiating machinery;
(c) the Scottish Criminal Record Office;
(d) attendance of officers at the Police College for England and Wales;
(e) the Standard Entrance Examination for entry to police forces in Scotland;
(f) central recruitment publicity;
(g) the Police National Computer;
(h) the National Identification Bureau;
(i) the National Criminal Intelligence Service;
(j) the Scottish Crime Squad;
(k) the National Co-ordinator of Ports Policing;
(l) bomb search training;
(m) the Animal Rights National Index;
(n) Police Liaison Officers Abroad;
(o) Europol.

The Police (Common Police Services) (Scotland) Order 1989 is hereby revoked.
