These Rules may be cited as the Probation (Amendment) Rules 1993 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.

For rule 9 of the Probation Rules 1984 there shall be substituted the following rule—“

(1) A probation committee shall appoint annually from among its members a chairman and may so appoint a deputy chairman.
(2) A probation liaison committee shall appoint annually from among its members, other than co-opted members, a chairman and may so appoint a deputy chairman.
(3) A committee referred to in paragraph 1 or 2 of this rule shall fill a vacancy in the office of chairman whenever it occurs.”.
3 
For rule 11 of the Probation Rules 1984 there shall be substituted the following rule—“

A probation committee shall appoint such person as it thinks fit as its treasurer.”.
